Slot-Back Sofa – A Timeless Design Waiting for Its Moment

We designed the Slot-Back sofa at the same time as the Spoke-Back sofa—just with one Spoke instead. Built on the same design principles, the two sofas share components, allowing for efficient production and stock management while offering multiple design options.

Originally designed in 2000, the Slot-Back sofa was briefly produced by Andersen Furniture before being discontinued due to low sales. The reason? It was considered too modern at the time. But design history has shown that some creations simply need time to be appreciated. Just as Børge Mogensen’s work found its true audience years later, perhaps the Slot-Back sofa is still waiting for its moment in the spotlight.
