Designing a Home: The Tungelund Residence
“You are not handed a home – you make it yourself!” A house should be more than just walls and a roof – it should reflect the people living in it. The Tungelund residence does exactly that.
This low-built home, surrounded by a terrace and overlooking vast grass fields, was designed to balance function and aesthetics. With 130 m² to accommodate a growing family of four, the layout was carefully structured. One side houses bedrooms and bathrooms, while the other is dedicated to an open-plan living room, dining area, and kitchen. A long corridor, serving as both an entrance and a practical storage solution, seamlessly connects the two zones.
The field-facing side boasts a large window section with direct access to the terrace, merging indoor and outdoor spaces and allowing nature to become part of daily life. On the more private, neighbour-facing side, the bedrooms and bathrooms offer discreet comfort, featuring integrated, hidden lighting for a clean and sophisticated finish.
The result? A home that respects its surroundings, prioritises functionality, and – most importantly – feels like home. And in case you were wondering… the Tungelund family is now complete, happily settled in their perfectly tailored space.
