We adjusted, cut, twisted and layered photos and scans of Heidi Zilmer’s hand-painted originals of tiles, patina, cracklings, and joints. We combined drawn illustrator patterns with Photoshop layers – and BOOM! … Zilmer’s fantastic Nordic Antique wallpapers were born.

Zilmer’s Nordic Antique wallpaper is a collection of contemporary wallpapers with roots in traditional Scandinavian knitting patterns. Heidi designed the patterns to resemble antique tiles, and the wallpaper lengths can be combined, displaced vertically, and inverted to form countless ways of expression.
