The Essence of Minimalist Design

A letter arrived today – well, not to us directly, but to our client Frost A/S, with whom we’ve collaborated for more than 20 years, designing nearly everything they produce. The letter stated, and we quote: “Your extraordinary design expertise has attracted our attention.”

One of the designs that caught the eye of The German Design Council was the UNU Shelf and Wardrobe System – a simple idea, meticulously refined in every detail. This recognition led to UNU being nominated for the German Design Award 2016 in the Excellent Product Design category.

The UNU Shelf and Wardrobe System exemplifies minimalist design, transforming storage into an art form. Crafted from aluminium, its sleek lines and unembellished surfaces create an almost ‘naked’ aesthetic, available in Smooth Black or Chalk White finishes. This system’s simplicity is its strength, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into various interiors, from private homes to commercial spaces. It’s proof that sometimes, less truly is more.
