Latin American-Inspired Dining Experience in Aarhus

The Rømer kitchen is deeply inspired by the vibrant flavours and colours of Latin America. This influence is evident not only in the dishes but also in the way they are served—designed for sharing, with multiple small plates arriving at your table.

To complement the bold and diverse cuisine, the interior design of Rømer brings together an eclectic mix of materials, textures, and colours. From natural oak and burnt metal to galvanised steel, natural stone, transparent curtains, and bespoke neon signage, every element has been carefully chosen to create a dynamic yet cohesive atmosphere. With five different chair designs, custom lighting installations, and hand-selected décor, the space feels inviting, layered, and full of character.

Rather than a mess, we see it as a thoughtful fusion of contrasts—where floating Dee pendant lights create a soft, ambient glow across the 250-square-metre restaurant, while MIB spotlights highlight each table. The granite foundation of Clemens Bridge, which naturally extends into the space, was seamlessly integrated into the design, embracing the history of the location.

No detail was overlooked. From the bent neon toilet signs and bespoke napkins to the new Rømer logo and custom menus, the identity of Rømer is reflected in every touchpoint.
