Tangofied III Album Cover

The unplanned Tangofied Trilogy by Torben Westergaard has now resulted in three albums. Tangofied (2012), was recorded in Buenos Aires with Argentine musicians in collaboration with pianist and arranger Diego Schissi and is heavily inspired by sounds of Astor Piazzolla’s last releases. Tangofied II (2014) was more inspired by Argentinean folk music and was partly recorded in Buenos Aires in collaboration with Ernesto Snajer and Mariano ‘Tiki’ Cantero, partly in Denmark with Torben’s usual and brilliant band The Tangofied Ensemble. TANGOFIED III (2017), the final of the “Trilogy”, is entirely Danish and was recorded only using Torben’s Danish band The Tangofied Ensemble (along with different musical friends).

The TANGOFIED III album cover shows a wooden figure Torben Westergaard made as a child. “The Birchwood Man” hang on the outside wall of his childhood home. Birchwood is Torben’s favorite species and it very much represents Denmark and all of Scandinavian. The “Birchwood Man” became a reference to this third part of the Tangofied Triology since the current release came “home”.
The Birchwood Man” still exist, in Denmark on the outside wall of Torben’s mothers home, who he, by the way, dedicated this fantastic TANGOFIED III album to.

Once again we are very proud to design the album cover for one of Torben’s albums, and if you don’t know the album, we strongly recommend listening to the album on your favourite streaming service.

Enjoy!
