Feliz Navidad – A Christmas Classic Revisited

For Feliz Navidad, Torben Westergaard revisited José Feliciano’s much-loved Christmas classic, transforming it into an elegant instrumental bossa nova interpretation. With its warm Latin character and sophisticated interplay between the musicians, the familiar melody takes on a new and distinctly Torben Westergaard expression.

The starting point for the cover came from Torben himself: a simple Christmas tree-shaped cookie cutter. It was an object we could all immediately agree on – something wonderfully familiar and for many of us closely connected with Christmas and childhood memories. Its simple, recognisable shape became the central graphic element of the cover.

The result is a deliberately understated Christmas cover, built around a familiar object and the memories it evokes – much like the music itself, taking something we all know and giving it a new expression.
