Brille Galleriet

In 2012, we created a new interior design for Brille Galleriet in Aarhus, transforming the existing optician’s shop while respecting the character of the historic building in which it is located.

Original beams, textured walls and deep window openings were retained and incorporated into the interior, while new elements create an open and contemporary setting for the eyewear. Transparent display structures allow the existing architecture to remain an integral part of the space.

As always, lighting plays an important role throughout the shop, combining focused illumination of the eyewear with suspended fixtures that create rhythm, while the interplay of light and shadow contributes to the atmosphere and character of the interior.

The project brought together several aspects of our design work. Throughout the interior, we used a selection of our own designs, including MIB spotlights and the Slope pendant lamps, the white UNU shelves from FROST Denmark, as well as tables and chairs. Even the Kilsgaard eyewear on display was designed by us, creating a direct connection between the interior and the products presented within it.
